Hi, everyone!

My first trimester just ended recently, and for the past few days, I’ve been finishing up some blog entry drafts. This isn’t supposed to be my first post since my hiatus, buuuut…whatever. Anyway, I’m not in the mood to make an intro for this long overdue product review. Let’s just cut to the chase and jump into the review.

I’m sure a lot of you have heard of Bobbie Cosmetics by now, right? They are not so new in the market anymore; however, they recently released some new products to add to their collection. I have yet to get my hands on those. For now, let’s focus on a product you are probably familiar with in their product line: their lipsticks.

Ingredients:

 Polydecene, Euphorbia cerifera. Ethylhexyl palmitate, Ozokerite wax, Cera Alba, PVP/ Hexadecene copolymer, Copernicia cerifera (Carnauba) wax, Flavor, Butyrospermum Parkii, Propyl paraben, Butylated hydroxytoluene, Tocopherol. May contain (+/-) Cl 77891, Cl 15850:1, Cl 77491, Cl 77499, Cl 45410:2, Mica, Cl 77891 (Titanium Dioxide), Cl 75470 (Carmine)

Packaging:

To be honest, the packaging sucks. It’s similar to the Wet n Wild Megalast lipsticks packaging or the old Careline lipsticks packaging. The problem here is that the plastic is very weak and breaks easily. I get that this is a cheap product, but I wouldn’t mind paying a little more in exchange of sturdier packaging.

Every single one of them has cracks. Sad.

Consistency:

It varies depending on the variant. They have some that are very thin and almost balm like. I didn’t pick those up. The ones I have are creamy and easy to glide on to the lips, except for Sugar Baby Kiss, which has a drier matte formula.

Finish/Texture:

It also varies. Some are glossy, some are cream/satin, and some are matte.

Shades:

LS-01 – This one was a little confusing. On the tube, it looked like a brown-toned nude. On the label (which I lost, hahaha), it said “Brown”. However, it turns out to be a light, brick red. It’s still a pretty colour. I wear this one the most.

LS-02 – Again, this one was confusing. On the tube, it looked like a shade that I would describe as MLBB. It also had “Brown” on the label. Turns out, it’s more of a rosy pink.

Berry Sexy – This is a muted crème berry shade. Depending on the natural tone of your lips, the berry tone may or may not be obvious.

Sugar Baby Kiss – This is the matte one in my collection. It’s a medium pink with slight yellow undertone. It looks similar to Ever Bilena Matte lipstick in “Pink Flame”.

Parisian Pink – This is a very pigmented fuchsia colour. It looks similar to Fashion 21 Pink Obsession Lipstick in “Hot Diva”, Maybelline 5^th Avenue Fuchsia, Sephora R11, and many more, considering this is a pretty common shade. Anyway, if you love fuchsia, you need this one in your kikay kit.

Pigmentation:

Again, the pigmentation varies. They have sheer ones that are pretty much just like tinted lip balm. The ones I have are pigmented. Though, LS-01 and LS-02 needs some layering, they are still pretty pigmented. The darker shades have the most colour-payoff. The reds are pretty amazing!

Try LS-O6, Juicy Melon, and Stiletto red if you want highly pigmented warm colours. Personally, I didn’t buy those because I’m not fond of warm toned reds.

Scent:

The scent also depends on the lipstick you have. LS-01 and LS-02 both have a light, butterscotch type scent while the rest have a light, fruity, slightly play-doh-like scent. They smell okay, in my opinion. I just prefer unscented makeup.

Longevity:

These are not long-lasting lipsticks. Even the matte formula wears off quickly. That’s probably the main reason why I don’t wear these often. I prefer longwearing lipsticks because I rarely have time to touch up my lip colour. However, for the price, I really can’t complain. On me, these last about 2 hours (without eating or drinking). If you don’t mind reapplying every two hours, then, you can overlook this flaw. The darker shades do tend to leave a nice stain behind, though.

Repurchase?

I don't see why not. 

I won't give a straight "Yes" because honestly, I don't ever wear these often because I prefer long-lasting lipsticks. However, I'm willing to give it another go if they come up with a better formula or an interesting new shade. 

Recommendation:

I highly recommend these for lipstick lovers on a budget! :) 

Tips: 

• Swatch or test the products first before buying because some of them look different in the tube from what they look like on the skin/lips. 
• If you want your lip colour to last longer, use these steps:
  1) Apply.
  2) Blot.
  3) Apply another layer.
  4) (Optional) Lay a sheet of issue on your lips and dust powder on top of it. 

PROS:

• Affordable 
• Good colour selection
• Comfortable to wear 
• Good variety of textures, finishes, and pigmentation

CONS:

• Limited/selected availability in stores
• Weak packaging
• Poor staying power 

NEUTRAL:

• Lightly scented
• Leaves a stain 

Final Thoughts: 

For anyone who wants a cheap thrill that won’t sacrifice quality, let me tell you, Bobbie Cosmetics will be your friend.

I'll give this a 4/5. I can overlook some of its flaws because really, the overall quality is really good for the price!
