Green Day: OOTD, FOTD, and Mini Haul

I'm really trying to catch up with my blogging life (as if I actually have one). My last post has just been published and here I am, creating another one. Anyway, on to the actual content.

When it comes to clothing, I am not a big fan of colour. I mostly wear black or grey. On rare occasions, I wear red, purple, or blue, but probably 95% of the time, they are still in the darker range of hues. Brights just aren't my thing and I don't think they ever will be. Today, however, I wore an unusual colour: green. I'm not really fond of the colour green in clothing. In objects and makeup, I guess I'm okay with it. I mean, I have worn green eyeshadow before and I was cool with it. I'm an odd person, I know.

Anyway, this is not really an actual OOTD. You can barely see what I'm wearing. Basically, I have a fitted tee inside and my signature plaid polo shirt on top of that. You may notice how the green somewhat makes my skin look a bit tan. I suppose it's the shade(s) of green that caused this. I normally wear deep tones of green and they don't make my skin look tan. I'm still not a fan of it. I think I will be sticking to my usual dark tones. :P

For the FOTD, I went for a minimalist makeup look. I just moisturized my face with my favourite moisturizer, the Céleteque Suncare Facial Moisturizer w/ SPF 15; and concealed my problem areas using my Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection 16 Hr Concealer in 03 Medium (which is actually too dark for me :( ) mixed with San San Concealer in 01 Natural (to neutralize the Collection concealer), and I set that using Ever Bilena Pressed Powder in Natural. I contoured my face and applied blush using my ELF Contouring Blush and Bronzer Duo. For the brows, I used Nichido eyebrow cake (a mix of the black and brown shades) and I set them in place using Ever Bilena Advance Colorless Mascara. My lips were devastatingly dry today, so I skipped lipstick and applied Essence Cosmetics XXXL Shine Lipgloss in 08 Glamour to Go.

For the haul, I just got three items:

1. Maybelline the Hypercurl Volum' Express Waterproof Mascara

  • I've been meaning to buy this ever since it came out in the market, but I just wasn't willing to spend a lot on mascara. I tend to save on mascaras and splurge on base makeup because honestly, I can live without mascara. However, I still think it adds a nice touch to eye makeup. So, when Maybelline had the promo sale, I decided to get one of these just to try it out. I tested it earlier and quite frankly, I'm in love with it! I will do a review on this soon.
2. Fashion 21 Perfect Stick with Tea Tree Oil
  • This product is not new. It has been around for a few years already. I'm not sure why I never considered buying this before. Perhaps, it is because back then, I did not have problematic skin. I chose this variant because I have acne-prone skin and tea tree oil is one of my regular skin care products. I haven't tested this out yet, so I am not sure if it suits my skin tone. Hopefully, it does. I like stick foundations/concealers, but the ones I have are too dark for me. I've seen plenty of good reviews about this product, so why not give it a try, right? I will test this out and make a review on it.
3. Zen Zest Eau de Toilette for Men in Silver (not in picture)
  • Just a fun fact, I prefer men's fragrances. I just think they smell a lot "cleaner". I own some fragrances for women, but most of the time, I reach for my masculine/unisex scents. I still have a bottle of this EDT, but the spraying mechanism broke and I can't transfer it to a different bottle. I asked the staff of Zen Zest if they have any repair services. They had none, so I went and bought a new bottle, anyway, because I love this particular scent sooooooooooo much! [Haha] I'll probably do a review on all my Zen Zest fragrances once I purchase the EDT in Periwinkle.

Zen Zest EDT didn't make it into the picture because I forgot to take it from my sister's bag. :'(

Anyway, that's all for now. I'm too sleepy to make another post. Hopefully, I can make another one within the week.

Thanks for dropping by!

Overdue Haul Post: Shopping Spree at Landmark

As I might have stated before in my previous blog post, I actually have a folder full of blog entry drafts. They just keep accumulating because I haven't found time to actually finish them. It is already September and I suppose it is time for me to start doing something about this issue. So, here is my first step towards improving my consistency in posting.

Last month, I went on a shopping spree at Landmark (Trinoma). I don't go there very often since it is not very convenient for me. August just so happens to be my birth month, that is why I decided to treat myself there. Landmark is known for its vast selection of items. I spent quite a lot of time roaming around the apparel and cosmetic sections. In the process of doing so, I tired my sister out [Haha].

Anyway, I bought a few items from there and I'm currently using some of them.

Items in the photoArm warmers from My Socks
Colourful kabuki brush (Unbranded)
Duo-Fibre kabuki brush (Unbranded)
Dual-ended (pencil brush and angled eyeliner brush) from Artist Studio
Angled flat top foundation brush from Artist Studio
Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection 16 Hr Concealer

I will be posting reviews on the concealer and makeup brushes soon. As for the arm warmers, I don't think it is necessary to review them. To those who know me, you would know that I absolutely love arm warmers. It is really hard to find good and affordable ones; so, I was really pleased to find these at Landmark. They have really fun colours and designs. I picked the plain black on because it is the most versatile and I also got the orange and black striped one just because it reminds me of tigers (I love tigers, haha).

I think I still have energy to complete a few more blog posts. Hopefully, I can post another entry after this one. Anyway, that is all for now.
